Robotics

Henning Elementary Robotics Team  

We are so excited to offer this opportunity to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students! These students will be working together to code, build, drive, and compete with robots. We will have two teams of 6 students representing our school. Once robots are built, we will be working on our robot coding and navigation skills to prepare for VEX IQ tournaments. Our goal is to compete in at least two tournaments this year and try to qualify for the state tournament. Most tournaments are in or around the Lake Charles area.  Most tournaments are ALL DAY on Saturdays so students would have to be willing to attend the event on a weekend. We will meet every Thursday after school in the Robotics Room from 3:00-4:00.  

  • Students can only miss up to two practices to be able to compete in the tournaments. 

  • Students can only miss up to one tournament to be considered for next year’s robotic team. 

  • Students must provide their own transportation to the tournaments and be picked up promptly after practices.
